CONTACT ME

okneal2.JPGO. K. Neal (Oral Kenneth Neal, Jr.) has been a Licensed Local Pastor with the NWTX Conference of the United Methodist Church from 2002 until he retired in 2009.  He was the pastor of the Kress United Methodist Church from June, 2006 until June 2009.  He served the First United Methodist Church of Sudan and the Lubbock Cooper United Methodist Church before he came to Kress.  Although he was called to preach before college, OK chose the secular life first.  After 9-11-01, the Lord convicted OK and convinced him that it was time to follow his original calling.

O.K. was born and raised in Roswell, NM and attended several colleges before being graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from Almeda University.  He is currently continuing his education with Perkins Theological Seminary at SMU in Dallas and St. Paul's Theological Seminary in Kansas City.

Before becoming a pastor, O.K. spent thirty-two years in law enforcement and the judiciary in Southeastern New Mexico and West Texas.  He taught law enforcement, judiciary and life improvement classes for twenty years.  In addition to twenty years training and experience in teaching and education, O.K. has training, education and experience in psychology and pastoral counseling, as well as eight years experience in grief counseling, seven years experience as a hospital chaplain and several years training and experience in stress management and counseling.

O.K. is bi-lingual, being conversant in Spanish.

O.K. has been a member of the NWTX Conference Committee for Hispanic and Latino Ministries and the Lubbock District Committee on Small Church Ministries.

O.K. is a Diplomat of, and a Board Certified Expert in Traumatic Stress by, the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress.  He is, also, a professional member of the National Center for Crisis Management.  He has previously been a member of the American Association of Behavioral Therapy.  He is a Senior Chaplain for the Texas Department of Public Safety and a member of the Texas DPS Critical Incident Response Team for Region Five.

After his retirement O.K. was ordained in Springfield, MO by Acts Ministry, an organization of Christian fellowship working for unity in the Body of Christ among all of those who hold to the historic Christian faith.  The prayer of Jesus in John 17 is our prayer, and our slogan is Unity, In Christ, Through The Holy Spirit.  Through this affiliation O.K. is able to preach, teach, preform marriages, baptisms, communion and act as any other minister of the Gospel.

Currently OK and Jane are pastoring the Matador Assembly of God.

O.K. says, "I do not want to take the place of the minister of your church.  However, I do understand that there are some things that you would rather not discuss with someone that you know.  If you have such an issue, I would be happy to help.  Since I understand the things that can cause and can help with stress, I would like to hear from you.  We will not meet, etc.  Maybe I can help you with your issues.  God Bless you."
